Loftin: Comm Slive and I have known each other for a while. Recently, I talked to him at the Cotton Bowl ... and that was all of it until 7/21, after a meeting with this board. At that time, I reached out to him by phone.

Loftin says that he wants the Big 12 to survive, A&M wants it to survive, and if (A&M) leaves, many other schools would be happy to replace them. Thinks it's strong enough to survive.

I don't think it will be weeks.....a week maybe but not weeks. Bowtie and Slive can ink the deal just as soon as we tell the Big 12 we are out. I think by this time next week, we'll have this put to bed. If not, I'm gonna be in a world of hurt.

Nope. The two steps that require prudency have taken place already. Now we notify Big 12 tomorrow that we will be leaving if we get an acceptance from SEC. The SEC votes us in Wednesday.

I'd love to still play tu, every year. Maybe it could be like the Daytona 500. It opens the season instead of ending it? Give thanks giving back to the families? I still like them playing on thanks giving, but if need be, first game of the year would be cool.

I think this needs to happen in the next 2 weeks in order for us to play in 2012. The SEC may like another year (ie not start until 2013) in order to give them some time to find #14.

I guess we'll find out.
