Johnathan Williams Anchors Jaguar Attack

It's been an up-and-down week for thr Southwind Jaguars (11-3), who finished in fourth place in the recently completed Arby's Classic in Bristol, TN. The Jaguars were attempting to be the decond consecutive Memphis-area basketball team to win the prestigious tourney (Melrose captured the crown in 2009-'10) but fell short in their bid. They lost to Urspring, all the way from Ulm, Germany (yes, you read that right) in the semifinals, 50-37. "The Euros physically beat us up," said Southwind coach Paul Edwards. "They are HUGE." Southwind then lost a shootout (literally) to Mentor (OH) High, 96-87.

All of Southwind's losses have come in tournaments, the third loss being inflicted by Bossier City (LA) in the Rumble on the Ridge in Forrest City, AR on November 27.
