Sooners Getting Familiar with DeSmet

There can be little argument that landing a recruit from a previously unfamiliar high school program enhances the chances to return to the same school and land another special talent. It would seem that Oklahoma has no plans of trying to be contrarians after landing St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet four-star wide receiver Durron Neal . And as such they began their pursuit of 2014 offensive lineman Andy Bauer during his trip to Norman last month.

It may seem odd for the Sooners to take interest in a player so young, particularly at a position that is all about physical growth, but at 6-foot-5, 278-pounds, and freshman film that has already earned him offers from Missouri and Miami (FL) it's safe to say that Bauer isn't your typical freshman.
