Briarcrest, Southwind Get Rare Opportunity

One of the fringe benefits of high school basketball teams in Memphis is the occasional opportunity to play a basketball game at the FedEx Forum. Every January, local prep teams have the chance to play in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration games at the FEF.

However, Briarcrest Christian School and Southwind High School took advantage of an even rarer chance on Tuesday night: the two teams were given the opportunity to scrimmage on the city's NBA arena floor, complete with the Memphis Grizzlies' cheerleaders, Griz PA Announcer Rick Trotter, and the overhead scoreboard.

The scrimmage was free to the public.
