Williams discusses recruitment

With Wake Forest guard C.J. Harris entering his senior year the Demon Deacons are in search of a perimeter scorer to fit that role in the 2013 recruiting class, which is why Jeff Bzdelik has offered Kameron Williams a scholarship.

Bzdelik watched all of his games on the EYBL circuit in Minnesota, while Jeff Battle scouted him in Hampton, Va.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Baltimore (Md.) St. Joseph shooting guard tops the EYBL scoring chart with 22.7 points per game. He describes himself as a high energy player with the ability to put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways.

"Right now I would see myself as a combo guard," Williams said. "I can handle the ball a little bit when called upon. Naturally I'm a two guard, but if you need me to play the point I can do it."

Williams is working most to improve his on-and-off-the-ball defense.

Rivals.com rates Williams, who claims 10 scholarship offers as a three-star recruit. Outside of the programs that have offered Williams Maryland, NC State, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Providence and Villanova are showing interest in him.

"Everything is still open," Williams said. "I'm still weighing my options."
