Arizona OLB/Safety has his eyes on Army

According to Kevin Stewart of Rivals' ArizonaVarsity.com, Robert Relf has tons of upside and could be a nice catch for most programs.

"Relf had a big week for Brophy," said Stewart of Relf's early season on field performance. "He was the leading tackler Saturday and forced a key fumble in the game. He held his own physically versus one the country's biggest offensive fronts (Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic). He has a good frame and good straight line speed for a linebacker. His change of direction is the one knock of observers that we can see in his game right now. If he continues to make double digit tackles in games his recruitment will pick up for sure."

Army is one program that has taken notice, and although the 6-foot-3, 220 defender has yet to pull down an offer from the Black Knights, don't be surprise that one won't be forthcoming soon.

I talk to Army almost every week, although they haven't offered me yet," says Relf, who can already claim 4 offers to his credit and indicates that the Black Knights are on his list of possible post season visits.

"It would be something different and new because it's not like a regular college. It's going to be nice and go see everything out there. Get to know it (West Point) a little better. So yes, I'm interested in them as well. I'm going to try and get a visit out there after my season, because it's going to be busy with the playoffs."

At Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep, Relf is very much a hybrid defender, where he can be seen playing both linebacker and strong safety, depending on the scheme.

Relf, also indicated that he and his teammates at Brophy are having a solid 2012 football campaign and looking forward to making big playoff run.

"Our season is going fine, we are play well down the stretch and getting ready of the playoffs," he adds. "We are 7-2 and we play Pinnacle next, which is the first game before the playoffs."

According to Relf, he has approximately two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery thus far this season.

In addition to football, Relf participates in basketball, track and field, where his events include the 100m, 200m, 400x100 and long jump. "The 200m and long jump are my best event," claims Relf.
