Nation's No. 3 ranked LB picks Seminoles

Commit Breakdown: Levenberry picks FSU

Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton linebacker E.J. Levenberry Jr. originally planned to wait until the U.S. Army All-American game in January to announce his college choice. But after making unofficial visits around the country this spring, the four-star prospect felt he didn't need to wait that long to make his decision.

The nation's No. 15 player and No. 3 outside linebacker's finalists were Michigan, Florida State and Oklahoma. On Tuesday afternoon during a ceremony at his high school, Levenberry announced his college choice: Florida State.

Throughout the recruiting process Levenberry emphasized that comfort level was a big part of his decision. He wanted to be sure he felt at home with the players, coaches and school. Education was also an important factor. He found that with the Seminoles.

He gave some indication of that a few weeks ago when he visited during spring practice. He spent a week in Tallahassee taking in what FSU had to offer.

"I didn't know I would fit in so well with everyone, players and students. I just felt so comfortable," he said. "I've visited FSU two times before, but that was just the coaches or a game. This time I got to meet everybody and see what a whole week was like and I loved it."

Helping the cause was FSU's 2012 signees Eddie Goldman and Ronald Darby, who, like Levenberry, is from the Mid-Atlantic region.

"It also helps that Eddie Goldman and Ronald Darby from my area are going there as well, it's always good to know kids from the region down there and have your boys around you," Levenberry said.

Levenberry becomes the 'Noles ninth commitment and second linebacker for the 2013 class.
