30 in 30: Harrison now an o-line veteran

For the second consecutive year, AggieYell.com is marking the progress towards the start of fall camp with its 30 players in 30 days feature on the most important players to Texas A&M's success in 2013. The list continues with number 26, Jarvis Harrison.

Position: Left guard
Classification: Redshirt junior
Height/Weight: 6'4", 320 lbs.
2012 Statistics: Appeared in 13 games, all starts

Why he's on the list: When Harrison arrived on campus as part of the recruiting class of 2010, he was relatively unknown. A two-star and late addition to the class from Navasota, he was largely known simply as a very big body. He was overshadowed by the likes of Luke Joeckel, Jake Matthews and Cedric Ogbuehi, but then-offensive line coach Jim Turner and head coach Mike Sherman saw a player with a ton of upside.

Four years, two offensive line coaches and two head coaches later, Harrison has lived up to that potential. He's made 14 consecutive starts and has proven himself to be a formidable run blocker and a very capable pass protector. He doesn't get a lot of attention, but he's now the most experienced member of the line at his position (with Matthews and Ogbuehi moving). With the departure of Joeckel and Patrick Lewis and the shuffling of the line, the Aggies are looking to Harrison to be a steadying influence at left guard in 2013.
