Lanfear makes the switch to A&M

As Texas A&M started its first spring practice today, followers of recruiting were waiting for the possible switch of Buda Hays 2015 offensive tackle Connor Lanfear. The six foot, six inch, 285-pound big offensive tackle knew that coming back down to A&M was going to be all he needed in order to switch his commitment from Texas to the Aggies.

"When I got down to A&M today, it just felt right and I felt at home," he said. "Everything from the town, to the way the people treat me, to how great the coaches won me over easily."

While at practice today, Lanfear got the chance to hang out with fellow A&M commit Trevor Elbert as they watched the offensive linemen go through drills.

"It was fun talking to Trevor and all the other players at A&M and they were all very nice," he said. "Watching coach Anderson was great and I like how he lets the players have fun, but knows when to reel them when it's time to get to business."

Lanfear had known pretty much all day that he was going to commit to A&M and didn't waste much time when he got a chance to visit with coach Kevin Sumlin.

"I sat down in his office and told coach Sumlin I wanted to commit and got pretty excited," he said. "He told me that I fit the mold of what they're trying to do and I fit the mold of Texas A&M because of my rodeo background."

The next goal for Lanfear is to get ready for the upcoming season and also help A&M recruit more players to join A&M's already amazing 2015 recruiting class.

"I'm ready for the football season to start and I'm thrilled to be a part of A&M now," he said. "Coach Sumlin told me he wants to find players to recruit to A&M and I plan on doing that."
