Pearland pro-style quarterback Connor Blumrick suffered a foot injury during the Oilers' week one game against Clear Falls. At the time, it was uncertain how the injury would effect the standout prospect's season, but he now faces season-ending surgery this week.

"I tore my Lisfranc ligament," Blumrick said. "It wasn't a big tackle or a particular play, I just kind of stepped on it wrong. Sadly, I'm going to be out for the season. I'm scheduled to have surgery later this week to get everything corrected."

A quick online search provides an overview of the Lisfranc injury, often referred to as a 'bizarre' injury. The recovery time after surgery could be 6-8 months in length, or sometimes over one year for a full recovery.

We will continue to stay in touch with Blumrick and provide updates on his progress, but please keep him in your thoughts as he prepares for surgery this week.
