Manziels speech short, but stirring

"Whoo. This is (pause for applause) - this is a moment I've dreamed about since I was a kid, running around the backyard pretending I was Doug Flutie and throwing hail marys to my dad. I want to start by thanking the Heisman Trust and the people that made this possible. It was a pleasure to get to know Collin Klein and Manti Te'o and I wish we had more time together.
"It's such an honor to represent Texas A&M. I wish my teammates could be on the stage with me. Choosing Texas A&M was one of the best decisions I've made in my entire life. To Mom, Dad, Mary, I want to thank you for the encouragement. To Grandpa ... you inspired me to play football. Grandma, I'm sorry for all the things we broke in the house.

"To my coaches back at Kerrville Tivy, you taught us all to fight and work for something you want more than anything in the world. You taught us about passion and heart. To Coach Sherman, Coach Rossley, Coach Sumlin and Coach Kingsbury, and everyone who's a part of my coaching, you've been truly a blessing. You taught me not only what it means to be a football player but to be a man as well. Thank you so much.
"I wish my teammates could be up here with me. My offensive line (names them), I'm as safe standing up here as I am in the pocket with y'all.
"At this time I'd like to honor someone who is near and dear to Texas A&M, Joey Villavisencio, who we lost around this time last year. ... I know Joey's in a better place.
"Most of all I'd love to thank God for me being here. For all the love and grace you've showed me. For the values carried from my parents to Texas A&M, to Kyle Field, with 30,000 students standing there for us.
"To the 12th Man, Texas A&M, Kerrville and Aggies everywhere, this Heisman Trophy is for you. Gig 'em."
