Muhammad Excited for His Turn

Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point 2018 four-star tight end Mustapha Muhammad has 32 college offers entering the 2017 spring season. Muhammad has worked hard training throughout the off season and is ready for the final stages of his recruiting process.

"That's been the headline of every interview now after signing day--'how do you feel now that it's your turn?' and honestly I can't wait," said Muhammad. "Now that the spotlight is on 2018 I think it's great. We are the main focus now. I just want to take as many visits as I can. I'm so excited for this whole recruiting class and having fun with them."

Even though Muhammad ranks No. 12 at his position for the 2018 class he is never complacent. After the season he had workout throughout Christmas and then New Year with trainer Doug Smith, sometimes twice a day, and he continues to workout hard entering the spring season.

"This spring, summer and my senior season I really want to prove to colleges that I'm college ready; meaning that I'm big enough, strong enough and fast enough," said Muhammad. "I'm going to continue to work hard in the weight room and see improvement."

Working hard in the field, classroom and keeping up with all of the recruiting calls and messages fills up Muhammad's schedule.

"Ever since signing day I've been getting even more texts and messages to call coaches on the phone," he said. "It's definitely picked up."

Muhammad said he talks with Texas A&M tight end coach Jeff Banks on a regular basis.

"Anytime A&M has a cook out or something going on in the future I definitely plan on being there especially seeing how I couldn't make it to their Junior Day," said Muhammad. "I'm always talking with Coach Banks and with Coach (Kevin) Sumlin from time to time."

Muhammad is definiteLay excited for the recruiting process to heat up, but he also appreciates the talent before him.

"A&M had a pretty good recruiting class," he said. "They have a lot of talented guys who just signed. I for sure could see myself playing with them, guys like Kellen Mond."

Muhammad will begin his spring season May 1st and will play I his spring game May 24th.

"I will be narrowing my college offer list down to 10 in late May at my spring game," he said.
