AggieYell.com's look at the 30 players most important to Texas A&M football's 2019 success continues with number 19, defensive end Micheal Clemons.
Class: Redshirt junior
Height/Weight: 6-foot-5, 270 pounds
2018 stats: Did not play due to injury
What the Aggies are hoping for in 2019: For him to take over as the starting defensive end, which he was slated to be last year before a broken foot in fall camp ended his season. Kingsley Keke did an admirable job replacing Clemons, but now they need him to step back in and help lead a talented front line.
Why he's number 19 on the list: Clemons is likely more than just a placeholder for DeMarvin Leal and Max Wright. He's got speed, size and a solid overall game. And that's what the Aggies need if they're going to improve defensively. In spite of the talent behind him, Clemons hasn't been remotely threatened this summer, which could bode well for A&M as the season approaches. A big season from Clemons would be a major boost to the defense.
