A look back at Junior Day

Here's a recap of some of the activity from Texas A&M's first Junior Day, held Jan. 26:
Elbert joins the class: Rockwall Heath offensive linemen Trevor Elbert had narrowed his list to Texas A&M and Alabama over the past few months. After the Sunday event, Elbert said he wanted to visit Alabama before making a final decision.

He didn't even make it home before changing his mind.
"On my way home my family and I decided it was time for me to commit," said Elbert. "I've known for a long time I was going to go to A&M, but just wanted to make sure."
The decision by the 6 foot, 6 inch, 296-pound Elbert to commit nearly led to a traffic hazard.
"Coach Beaty was on his way home when I decided to commit and said he nearly wrecked his car from the excitement," he said. "Coach Sumlin was fired up about my commitment to A&M as well."
Two new offers sent out:
The Aggies offered a pair of 2015 prospects who were in attendance Sunday, and stand in good shape with at least one of them.
Sulphur Springs S Larry Pryor, who had been considered a likely offer, got his to join other "Fab 5" members Daylon Mack, Justin Dunning, Malik Jefferson and Ja'Mychal Hasty with A&M offers.
"I'm really excited and thrilled to get offered by A&M," he said. "I've wanted an offer from A&M for a while now and I'm happy I was finally able to get it."
The other offer went out to Connor Lanfear of Buda Hays, who has been a Texas commit since June 2013. The 6 foot, 6 inch, 270-pound 3-star was one of several impressive linemen prospects at Junior Day, including Elbert, Conner Dyer of Mesquite Horn and Toby Weathersby of Houston Westside.
Daylon Mack, recruiting coordinator: The Gladewater defensive tackle and A&M commit apparently didn't let the coaching staff work on players in attendance yesterday; he decided he'd help a little bit.
Maybe "a little bit" should be changed to "a lot".
"Daylon let me join his Fab Five group as long as I committed to A&M," Elbert told AggieYell.com. "He was pushing hard for me to commit to A&M all day today and was in everybody's ear to commit."
One of the players Mack worked hardest for a commit was Allen QB Kyler Murray, who was there with teammate Jaylen Guyton.
A very nice start: The 2015 class for the Aggies now totals six commits. All six -- Mack, Elbert, Jordan Davis, Dunning, Rodney Anderson and Jay Bradford -- are four-star prospects.
