After running a 4.64-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine last month, Myles Garrett could have come to A&M's Pro Day and watched. Instead, he came out and ran again -- and topped his jaw-dropping time from Indianapolis.

At 272 pounds, Garrett ran a 4.6 flat Thursday. He also did the broad jump again and hit 10 feet, 6 inches after hitting 10 feet, 8 inches in Indianapolis.

In other words, he went out and equaled or beat numbers that had already essentially clinched him the top pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

Garrett, as he is wont to do, didn't really care what other people thought of his decision to compete again -- something he told AggieYell.com he was going to do back in February. It was his standard, not anyone else's, that he was holding himself to.

"I gotta win. Winning is just not enough. I have to do my best," he said of the decision to test agin. "So, I have to build a new personal record not just set a record for everybody else. It's mine that counts. I can't hold myself to any other standard."

Even though other teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, sent large contingents to College Station to see Garrett, odds are he won't be there for him. The Cleveland Browns will see to that with the first pick.

Safety Justin Evans, who was pretty limited at the combine, went all out today and made the most of things. He was timed, unofficially, at 4.58 and 4.6 in the 40 and cruised through his drills. He showed excellent fluidity in coverage drills and had a 41.5-inch vertical jump, which would have been fourth overall in Indianapolis. Evans has been considered a potential late first round pick, and he did nothing to dissuade people of that opinion today.

Speedy Noil didn't even look like the same guy that left school early three months ago. His upper body is much bigger -- he looks like he put on about 15 pounds of muscle. His speed is still there, registering an unofficial 4.42-second 40-yard dash. Remember, Noil had the highest vertical at the combine last month. Most importantly, he caught everything thrown his way.

Trevor Knight may have been throwing against air, but he looked very good. Ironically, his slants where his best throws, but his deep passes were good too and he showed what we already knew, that he can throw on the move. Only three of his passes hit the ground, and two of those were drops -- shockingly, by Josh Reynolds. It may not be enough for him to get drafted as a quarterback (or at all), but Knight probably got a few teams to give him a longer look with his work today.

• Daeshon Hall put on a good showing in the three-cone and other agility drills. By the time he was done, every team was watching him.

• Avery Gennesy snapped the ball to Knight when he was working from under center and from the shotgun. Gennesy's snaps were solid and Knight handled them all.

• Ricky Seals-Jones is definitely being groomed as an H-back or tight end at the next level. He took some passes starting out of the three-point stance and took part in blocking drills.

• Gennesy and Jermaine Eluemunor were put through the ringer by scouts from the Patriots and Eagles. When the drills were supposed to be done, Philadelphia pulled both guys aside and made them run more. It looks like both guys will be drafted at this point.

• Jeremy Tabuyo easily had the best catch of the day, laying out for a sideline out that was wobbly and behind him. It was a great play.

• Two Aggies, Shaan Washington and Hardreck Walker, went down with hamstring injuries early in the workout. For guys who were counting on the Pro Day to make their only impression, that's a crushing blow.

• NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson was on hand to watch his nephew, Seals-Jones, work out. Aggie and former New England Patriot Ty Warren was also in attendance.

• A total of 54 NFL personnel, including three general managers, attended the Pro Day.
