Elite prospects to attend Rivals camps

The Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour hit in Los Angeles and Phoenix this last weekend, and contained a surprising number of highly regarded prospects that had been offered by Texas A&M, most notably Phoenix-area Rivals 250 product Qualen Cunningham, who was named the MVP of the Phoenix camp. This weekend, it's the state of Texas' turn to host camps in Houston on Saturday and Dallas on Sunday and its loaded group of 2014 and 2015 prospects that will be in attendance. In addition, many of these highly regarded recruits will be holding Texas A&M offers and showcasing their skills.
The quarterbacks with A&M offers include 2014 Rivals 250 prospect Justice Hansen out of Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe, who had nearly 4,000 yards of total offense last season and accounted for 50 touchdowns rushing and receiving. He has offers from A&M, Oklahoma, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Missouri already and is slated to visit A&M later this month. In addition, 2015 phenom Kyler Murray out of Allen will be looking to establish himself as the top quarterback prospect in the state next year. Murray already has offers from Ohio State and Clemson and has garnered interest from programs such as the Aggies and Florida. Despite his youth, Murray already boasts a state championship to his credit and had about 3,000 yards in total offense last season. 2014 Bossier City (La.) Parkway product Brandon Harris is a dual threat quarterback with A&M interest who is also expected to visit A&M in the coming weeks. All three will be in Dallas. New Orleans Edna Karr's Speedy Noil who had 26 receiving touchdowns last season and 1,654 yards in the air may well be the best receiver at the Houston camp and he has sported an A&M offer for months.

A&M commit Kealvin Davis from Lakeview Centennial heads up a weekend offensive line crop that also includes four star Louisiana prospect Garrett Brumfield. Davis will be looking to make a move into the Rivals 250 and Dallas will be a good place for him to do as he will be going up against some of the nation's best defensive linemen. The Houston camp boasts three Louisiana prospects with A&M interest. 2014 Rivals 100 member Gerald Willis III (Noil's teammate) already won accolades last summer at the Rivals Underclassmen's Challenge. Louisiana DTs Courtney Garnett (who holds an A&M offer) and Garrald McDowell (visiting A&M in the next few weeks) will be looking to make a name for themselves.
Even so, the big name to look for in the Dallas camp is 2015 defensive tackle Daylon Mack from Gladewater, Texas. The 6 foot 2, 300 pound Mack is widely considered a Rivals 100 prospect in waiting and already holds offers from the Aggies, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech.
A&M commit and 2014 linebacker Hoza Scott is arguably the state's top player in 2014 and combines sprinter's speed with a 6 foot, 2 inch frame and the ability to play offense if necessary. He chose the Aggies over offers from the likes of Texas, LSU, and Alabama. His coverage skills will be tested at the Houston camp on Saturday. 2014 A&M commit Josh Walker out of Gilmer will be in attendance in Dallas. Walker has 4.5 speed and used it to good effect last season by rushing for 15 touchdowns, garnering 135 tackles, and even blocking seven kicks. Walker is being recruited as a Sam linebacker and his coverage skills will be put to the test against some of the best running backs in the southwest.
The state of Texas is loaded at defensive back this year and that'sevidenced by the foursome that is committed to A&M, all of whom are also members of the Rivals 250 for 2014: Fort Bend Bush's Nick Harvey, West Mesquite's Dylan Sumner-Gardner, North Forney's Armani Watts, and Dallas Skyline's Cedric Collins. Harvey started both ways on a Class 4A state finalist in 2012 while Collins has been a three year starter for the Raiders. Sumner-Gardner was previously committed to Clemson but decided to stay closer to home and committed to the Aggies at their most recent junior day along with Watts. New Orleans St. Augustine's Jermaine Roberts also sports an A&M offer, along with offers from Alabama and Texas.
Overall, it's going to be a four-star studded group making it way to Houston and Dallas and AggieYell will be at both events for interviews and evaluations. Look for us on Twitter: Mark Passwaters @themarkup; Courtney Roland @CourtneyRivals; and Jeff Tarpley @TarpRivals for all of the latest.
