Jordan Davis, a leader for Clear Lake

Clear Lake lost 31-to-37 to Deer Park last week making them hungrier for a win tonight against Pasadena Memorial. Kick off is at 7 pm.
Clear Lake head coach Sam Smith spoke to AY about tonight's game and the impact junior tight end (class of 2015 Texas A&M commit) Jordan Davis is having on this year's team.

"Jordan had 6 catches for about 120 yards and had a big touchdown last week," said Smith. "He had a real good night catching the ball. He is big and athletic and besides that he has turned into a big leader for us. He is a real positive influence out at practice and is very bright."
AggieYell.com has the four-star prospect listed at 6-foot-4, 250-pounds.
"He is growing and works real hard," said Smith. "He is getting taller and bigger and he is not afraid of the weight room and that's impressive. He surprises a lot of people because he is very fast for his size."
Davis will play a big role in tonight's game both on offense and special teams.
"Tonight we have to take care of the football," said Smith. "We can't turn over the football and have to create explosive plays on offense and defense. We will use Jordan on kick off return and extra point as well as, of course, on offense."
Davis is looking more and more like an A&M tight end and he says he will play wherever A&M needs him.
"I will play where I have to, special teams, wherever they put me," said Davis. "I definitely see myself fitting in at A&M with my speed, athleticism and quick hands. I see myself going in and competing right away."
Davis says he solid to A&M but that did not stop coaches from reaching out to him, this past week especially.
"On Sept. 1 I woke up and I had six or seven facebook messages, new twitter messages from Georgia, Houston, Nebraska, Arkansas, Florida and of course A&M," said Davis. "There was also Miami and then more and more here and there. They all bombarded me at one time.
"With other programs, I don't try and lead them on. I let them know before they get comfortable that I am committed and that I am not looking."
From A&M Davis said Jeff Banks, Jake Spavital, Larry Jackson and a few more were among the coaches who have reached out to him recently.
"Banks is always fired up," said Davis "He is live. I spoke with Spav and he is always laughing. Spav and Coach Banks together are…filled with energy. That entire program is energetic. Johnny is never tired on offense. I talk with Johnny and Mike (Evans) and everybody is fired up."
Davis will be at the Texas A&M, Sam Houston State game this weekend as well as the A&M, Alabama game next weekend.
Next weekend he will run into a number of his future teammates including the no. 1 quarterback in the nation Kyle Allen.
"I pay attention to Kyle Allen," said Davis. "I have watched his film and he is the real deal."
