TOP PROSPECTS: QB Drew Tate (JR), A J.C. Hunter (SR), Z Hammond Thomas (SR)
NOTES: Dick Olin's Ganders made it back yet again as they are led by junior passing sensation Drew "Fashion Plate" Tate. Two years ago Drew started a fashion trend of wearing a cut off shirt sleeve on his head, that has now became 7 on 7 shiek as many teams wear the hat-like cloth now. They will be one of the most exciting teams to watch.

NOTES: Very good collection of skill position people including Joseph Walker, QB Jason Petrasic, WR Travis Wilson, DB Dustin Herndon, and Jason Humphrey. They finished 7-3 in their season of varsity football last year and could use the 7 on 7 tournament as a springboard to a playoff run in the fall.

TOP PROSPECTS- TE PAtrick Fleming (SR), QB Cole Ford (JR), QB Chad Baca (SR)
NOTES: Collection of tall, physical WRs including TE Patrick Fleming, Chad Baca, Ross Recker, and others. They also run a spread offense which translates well to the 7 on 7 game.Â
TE Chad Baca committed to Purdue

TOP PROSPECTS: RB Derrick Mattiza (SR), RB Cody Toler (SR)
NOTES: Won the Bryan Tournament and took 3rd at the Woodlands to make it in. They have looked good despite not being thought of as a 7 on 7 type team. Watch out for them, they beat a lot of very good teams to make it in.

TOP PROSPECTS: FB Pierre Taylor (SR), CB Ryan Bosman (JR), TE Justin Gissendanner (SR), DB Kevin Jacobs (JR)
NOTES: Came in 2nd at Cy Creek/Falls to make it in. They are the biggest surprise of the tournament field since they are a run first, 2nd and 3rd team. However 7 on 7 organizer loves his alma mater of Dobie in the tournamnet field.
KELLER
PLAYERS TO WATCH: TE Chad Andrus, DT Tully Janszen (JR), DB Mario PriceÂ
TOP PROSPECTS: TE Chad Andrus, DT Tully Janszen (JR)
KLEIN
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Austin Creps (JR), TB Treeo Gibson (JR), FB Dallas Seem (JR), SE Clayton Barhorst (SR), FL Greg Buckholtz (SR), TE Pete Crasford (SR), LB Josh Mize (JR), LB Matt Shavers (JR), LB Josh Hebert (JR), CB Ashton Youbory (JR), FS Nick Reasons (JR), SS Matt Fisher (JR), CB Bobby Wyties (SR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Austin Creps (JR), TB Treeo Gibson (JR), LB Josh Mize (JR), CB Ashton Youbory (JR), FS Nick Reasons (JR), SS Matt Fisher (JR)
NOTES: Rebuilding at some positions, but they are very very young at the skill positions. Still Treeo Gibson, Josh Mize, and Ashton Youbory will be some of the state's best in two years. Came in 2nd at The Woodlands tournament to Qualify, and then won the Friendswood tournament. They will be a tough team for anyone.
KLEIN OAK
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Ethan Roberts (SR), TB Derrick Brown (JR), FB Edward Garcia (SR), SE Jon Sirman (JR), FL Brian McDonald (SR), TE Robert Hand (SR), LB Lane Westmoreland (SR), LB Rory Donaldson (SR), LB Daron Thornton (SR), CB Eric Spear (SR), FS Chase Scully (SR), SS Nathan Petross (JR), WR Jared Buck (SR), RB Chris Hargrave (SR)
TOP PROSPECTS: TB Derrick Brown (JR), TE Robert Hand (SR)
NOTES: Made it is an alternate in the Texas City tournament. They have a team that knows how to pass the ball so watch out for them. Also no one will be able to handle 6'7 TE Robert Hand one on one.
LUFKIN
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Reggie McNeil (SR), FB Chad Kagland (SR), TB Terry Williams (SR), TE Terrence Parks (JR), WR Vincent Watts (SR), WR Jeremy Berry (SR), LB Gregory Shelly (SR), LB Dreyfus Thompson (SR), LB Chris Ballenger (SR), CB Veltan Kirksey (SR), CB Justin Keylar (SR), SS Chris Aadler (SR), FS Keith Horace (SR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Reggie McNeil (SR), TB Terry Williams (SR), TE Terrence Parks (JR), WR Vincent Watts (SR), WR Jeremy Berry (SR)
NOTES: Won the Lufkin tournament and feature the state's premier skill position player in QB Reggie McNeal. However, WRs Jeremy Berry, Quinten Holeman, and Terrence Mott and DBs Velton Kirksey, Justin Kegler, and Carlos Sanders are big contributors as well. Although McNeil has gained fame for his ability to run the football, he is a polished passer and has operated Lufkin's pro and three WR sets for two years. In addition, Lufkin has depth and will bring a full complement of 20 kids to College Station. Given their system and collection of talent, they should be one of the favorites to win it all.
MARSHALL
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Austin Christmas (JR), RB Jason Roberts (SR), FB Larry Berryman (JR), X Ra'shah Turman (JR), Z Adrian Williams (SR), Y Leonard Bisgrave (SR), SOLB Brent Siimon (SR), SOLB Brandon Mills (SR), LB Breayon Moody (SR), LB Zac Duncan (SR), CB James Todd (SR), CB Greg Kimbrough (SR), FS Chris Wright (SR), OLB David Stewart (SR), LB Brian Cooper (SR), WR Adam Williams (SR), WR/P Victor Bennett (SR), OLB Ty StaggersÂ
TOP PROSPECTS: RB Jason Roberts (SR), Z Adrian Williams (SR), CB James Todd (SR), X Ra'shah Turman (JR), QB Austin Christmas (JR)
NOTES: East Texas comes well represented with 3 teams from 12-5A in the mix. They placed 3rd at Flower Mound to make it in. Watch out for James Tood, Austin Christamas and Ra'shah Turman to make some noise at the tourny.
McALLEN ROWE
PLAYERS TO WATCH: SE Juan Mata (SR), TE J.C. TOP PROSPECTS: TB Adrian Armstrong (SR), FB Robby Ellis (SR), QB Reneto Nunez (JR), FS Ricky Lopez (JR), OLB Jorge Lozano (SR)
NOTES: Came in 2nd at the Mission tournament, they are loaded with returning letterman. Watch out for them, they have a lot of veteran talent and could surprise some teams even though they are relatively new to the 7 on 7 games.
McKINNEY
PLAYERS TO WATCH: OL Bob Morton (SR), WR/DB Ryan Mace (SR), WR Johnny Quinn (SR), QB Bobby Nelson (SR), LB John Turner (SR), QB Ben Burgett (SR), SS Tim Bruce (JR), WR Jermaine Turner (JR), RB/LB Clint Lennox (SR), DE Tyler Rasco (SR), DE Shane Wagner (SR), FS Jaycen Prock (JR), RB Ryan Gregg (JR), LB/FB Randall RAgon (SO)
TOP PROSPECTS: OL Bob Morton (SR), FS Jaycen Prock (JR), RB Ryan Gregg (JR), LB/FB Randall RAgon (SO)
NOTES: Did not qualify last year even though they had blue chip RB Donta Hickson. However, they appear to have more ingredients this year including better participation (more depth) and quarterbacking. I saw them at the Denton Ryan tournament where they finished as the runner up and featured not one but two capable QBs in Bobby Nelson and Ben Burgett. WR Johnny Quinn caught everything thrown his way and WR/DB Ryan Mace (one of the team's best college prospects) wasn't even at Ryan. Last year, everything revolved around Hickson but this year guys like Jermaine Turner, Clint Lennox, Jaycen Prock, Ryan Gregg, and Tim Bruce are out to make a name for themselves. Put them down as an interesting sleeper pick.
ODESSA HIGH
PLAYERS TO WATCH: FB Doran Gentry (SR), LB George Armadariz (SR), WR/DB Darrell Shipman (SR), RB/LB Tadd Baughman (JR), WR/DB Brad Fox (JR), C/LB Paul Moody (SR), QB Travis Young (SR), WR/DB Matt Doniney (SR), TE/DE Reggie Miles (SR), TE/DE Mark Camilli (SR)
NOTES: Finished 3rd in the Abilene tournament to make it in. QB Travis Young moves over from WR to lead the attack.
PEARLAND
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Noah Allen (SR), RB Jeremy Brown (SR), WR Johnny White (JR), OLB Josh Gallion (SR), WR Zach Golden (SR), LB Brandon Farron (JR), TE Kyle Jackson (SR), LB Scott Derry (JR), WR Matt Phelan (SR), DB Raymond Chappin (SR), RB Travis Chambers (JR), TE Casey Cowals (SR), OLB John Coffman (JR), OLB Mike Garcia (JR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Noah Allen (SR), WR Zach Golden (SR)
NOTES: Noah Allen has committed to OU. Made it in as an alternate in the Baytown Lee tourny.
PLANO
PLAYERS TO WATCH: TB Kendrick Alexander (SR), TB-LB Jon Peterson (SR), TE Chris Davis (SR), LBH Raul Thedon (JR), QB Rhett Morgan (SR), FS
Matt Forrester (JR)
TOP PROSPECTS: TB Kendrick Alexander (SR), FS MAtt Forrester (JR)
NOTES: Despite the fact that they run the veer, Plano may do well at the state tournament with a cast that includes TB Kendrick Alexander, FS Matt Forrester, QB Rhett Morgan and TB-LB Jon Peterson
PLANO EAST
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Wes Bankston (SR), SLB Aaron McKenzie (SR), MLB Nic Thompson (SR), WLB Brandon Brady (SR), FS Chris Johnson (SR), CB Keith Gill (SR), SS/FS Zack HArrison (SR), CB Kevin Thorne (SR), WLB Aubrey Smith (SR), TE D.J. Mills (SR), FB Zach Paul, TB Darrell Caruthers, QB Michael Crane
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Wes Bankston (SR),
NOTES: Plano East runs the option but they feature a fine QB in Wes Bankston and some pretty good skill position people. Like Plano, it will be interesting to see how they fare against teams who are more practiced in the spread offense.
RICHLAND HIGH
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Elvis GAllegos (SR), RB/RCB Cody Jeffcoat (SR), WR/FS Adam Parker (SR), WR Casey Morris (JR), TE Casey Staples (JR), LDE Tim Hardin (SR), RDE ZAch Whitehurst (JR), LB Brandon Wighurdt (JR), LB Mark Green (SR), LCB Stephen Dodson (SR), SS Cory Spencer (SR), FS Blake TAylor (SR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Elvis GAllegos (SR), RB/RCB Cody Jeffcoat (SR), WR/FS Adam Parker (SR), LDE Tim Hardin (SR)
NOTES: Qualified in the Weatherford tournament and also reached the semi-finals of the Grapevine tournment. Features maybe the best pair of skill position players on the same team in the state with QB-DB Elvis Gallegos and big, physical WR Adam Parker. They are tough to stop near the goalline with Gallegos rolling and throwing to Parker who simply outmuscles his man. They also feature some serious skill position people including Casey Morris, Cory Spencer, and small but underrated WR Cole Sweetser. If they can get a full complement and rotate some people to keep everyone fresh (especially Gallegos), they could go deep.
RR STONY POINT
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Landon Fullerton (JR), WR Chris Edwards (SR), RB/WR Rod James (JR), FB George Rios (SR), TB Linn Nunn (JR), TE Garrett Hartford (SR), REC Zack Kemper (JR), SLB Brent Hunt (SR), WLB Marcus Ramirez (SR), MLB Arron Reyes (JR), CB Tyrone Bethel (SR), CB Stephen Alexander (SO), SS Fred Johnson (SR), FS Adam Neons (JR), PR Chris Edwards (SR), WR Justin Gerrard (JR), WR Kyle Sorenson (JR), WR Danny Rios (SR), LB Brain Carl (JR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Landon Fullerton (JR), WR Chris Edwards (SR), MLB Arron Reyes (JR), CB Stephen Alexander (SO), FS Adam Neons (JR)

SAN ANGELO CENTRALÂ

TOP PROSPECTS: SS/WR Jason Perez (SR)
NOTES: They return back to the 7 on 7 State Championship, but lost a ton of star players. They placed 3rd in their won tournament to make it back.
SAN BENITO
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Randy Herrera (JR), WR CHris Sandoval (SR), QB Anthony Garcia (SR), QB Balde Aguirre (SR), DB Carlos Limon (JR), DB Tom Maldonado (SR), LB Mark McCommas (SR), LB Raymond Claudio (SR), DB Tom Cruz (SR), RB Mike Mull (SR), LB Josh Saladonia (SR), FB William Gonzalez (JR), LB Marzo Arguelles (JR), Z Ryan Brady (JR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Anthony Garcia (SR), LB Mark McCommas (SR), RB Mike Mull (SR), LB Josh Saladonia (SR)
NOTES: Won the Mission 7 on 7 Tournament to make it in. They are one of two Valley reps to make it into the field.
SPRING
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Adam Karras (SR), AB Jared Hickson (JR), BB Joey Wallace (SR), Y Jeff Palmer (SR), Z Seth Edwards (SR), OLB Doc Richardson (SR), ILB Jason Smith (SR), ILB John Harkless (JR), OLB Curtis Straughter (JR), CB Calvin Williams (JR), CB Leon Straughter (SR), S David Riggs (SR)
TOP PROSPECTS: QB Adam Karras (SR), AB Jared Hickson (JR), Z Seth Edwards (SR), CB Calvin Williams (JR)
NOTES: They finally joined the 7 on 7 craze with an alternate bid from The Woodlands tournament. They know how to pass the ball so this is a type of event that they could take because it plays to their strength.
TYLER LEE
PLAYERS TO WATCH: SE Brad Bergfield (SR), TE Jonathan Palmer (SR), FLK Blake Womble (SR), QB Ty Wright (JR), QB Matt Flynn (JR), TB Tim Dallas (SR), FB Hollis Landers (JR), FB Riggins (JR), DS Jordan Owens (JR), PR Blake Womble (SR), SLB Tyson Wilson (JR), MLB Cody Wofford (SR), WLB Paul Williams (JR), LCB Damian Dews (JR), RCB Byron Fields (SR), LS Courtney Dotson (SR), RS John Ainsworth (JR)
TOP PROSPECTS: SE Brad Bergfield (SR), TE Jonathan Palmer (SR), FLK Blake Womble (SR), QB Ty Wright (JR), QB Matt Flynn (JR), SLB Tyson Wilson (JR), WLB Paul Williams (JR), LCB Damian Dews (JR)
NOTES: Lee runs a passing offense which perfectly meshes with the 7 on 7 game. They also have been to the playoffs for several years in a row now and have a nucleus that is experienced at winning. Throw in skill position people such as WR Blake Womble, WR Brad Bergfield, QB Ty Wright, RB Fray Riggins, WR Ricky Walker and others and this is a program that should do well at state.
WESTFIELD
PLAYERS TO WATCH: TB Beau Carr (SR), FB Varsho Risher (SR), SE Michael Curl (SR), FL Chris Rigsby (SR), TE Mark Roberts (SR), SLB Frederick Foy (JR), MLB Chris Buckley (SR), WLB Mark Burrell (SR), CB Willie Hicks (SR), CB Gary Shepard (SR), SS David Bullock (SR), FS Marquel Baldwin (SR), TB Isaac Thomas (SR), RB Gary Rauls (SR), RB Mark Lenton (JR), DB Mark Gilliam (JR), DB Oscar Thomas (SR), QB Mark Spivery (JR), WR Ray Pellerin (JR), WR Mark Hamilton (SR), LB Corey Campbell (SR), TE Ron Pierce (SR), RB Charles Boxteo (SR)

NOTES: made it as an alternate in the Cy Creek/Falls tournament. They are one of the state's top teams but have yet to settle on a QB.
THE WOODLANDS
PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Ben Barton (SR), TB Chris Easley (SR), FB Shawn Carruther (SR), SE David Strain (SR), FL Danny Amendola (SO), TE Mark Gorman (SR), SLB Drew Lessman (SR), MLB Ben Jackson (JR), WLB Ray Miller (SR), CB Adam Rayford (JR), CB Travis Magley (SR), CB Wes Dorsett (JR), SS Daniel Evans (SR), FS Cole Shrier (SR), LB Aaron Cook (JR), QB Matt Vauyglink (SR), QB J.J. TOP PROSPECTS: QB Ben Barton (SR), TB Chris Easley (SR), FL Danny Amendola (SO), TE Mark Gorman (SR), MLB Ben Jackson (JR)
NOTES: When it comes to the 7 on 7 State Championship just pencil The Woodlands in, they live for these events. Took 4th at thier own tournament, 3rd at Baytown Lee and 3rd at Cy Creek/Falls. Ben Barton to Mark Gorman will be a combo to watch for.
