Texas A&M spent Selection Sunday last year in shock, as they were left out of the NCAA Tournament field. That didn't happen today, but their seeding was shockingly poor all the same.

After an SEC Tournament run that ended with an 82-63 loss to top seed Alabama in the championship game, the Aggies ended the season with a program-record 17 conference wins and an overall 25-9 mark.

A&M won 15 conference games during the season, including wins over the Crimson Tide and Tennessee. The Aggies also beat Arkansas, Auburn, Missouri and Vanderbilt twice.
That was shockingly only good enough for a 7th seed in the Midwest Regional, located in Des Moines, Iowa, which will begin March 16. The Aggies will open up against 10th seed Penn State; if they win their opener, A&M will face the winner of the matchup between 15th-seeded Colgate and arch-nemesis Texas, the region's 2nd seed..

The top seed in the region is Houston, the second overall seed in the tournament.
