Since committing to Texas A&M on May 1, Tupelo, Miss. linebacker Tristan Jernigan has seen much of the SEC come calling. On Tuesday night, he said he's no longer answering.
Jernigan, the sole linebacker commit to this point in the 2024 class, visited both Arkansas and Alabama last week. Both Mississippi State and Ole Miss had attempted to convince him to stay in state as well since he made his verbal commitment to the Aggies.
Even though he never seemed to be overly tempted by other programs, the visits to Fayetteville and Tuscaloosa did cause concerns. He decided to put those to bed with a Twitter post announcing he was sticking with A&M.
Jernigan remains a key piece of A&M's 2024 recruiting class as they look to add needed depth at linebacker. The Aggies continue to pursue the likes of 4-stars Xaiver Atkins, TyAnthony Smith and Jordan Lockhart, but now they won't have to worry about whether Jernigan will waver.
